Blooper

Blooper:

After showing and having a discussion with my tutor, Gigi (Genevive Grady) a short video I had created of a compilation of all the funny, accidents, goofy and silly mistakes that we had created as a group during this process, she explained how this was just as much an important part of the whole research.

Whilst you are so concentrated on finding out and exploring all these new and exciting things, it can take away from the fun and enjoyment that was had along the way. The dancers I have been working with have been nothing but patient, hard-working and always put effort into everything I have asked of them; they have produced results of my questioning that I did not realise I would discover and so I created this video in order to almost remind them how much I have appreciated and enjoyed working with them as this was such a team effort.

What has this shown me:

  • I didn't expect to find this through the research
  • Explored the relationship and environment subconsciously until reflecting on everything when I had to change the method of working to digital
  • How my relationship with them is as people, dancers, choreographically and their relationship to me
  • How this creates respect, commitment, supportive environment to work in, trust for each other
  • How to show my appreciation for them

The video created is comical and designed to bring a bit of joy and fun memories back to my dancers of the time we shared, almost like a keepsake; and in doing so, an entertaining and uplifting watch for any viewer and audience, reminding them of the human relationship and how positivity and respect can produce wonderful things.
