Workshop Nine

Workshop Nine:

This is my first rehearsal session with all my dancers, apart from Tom who could not be there, therefore I chose to take the opportunity to begin to piece together some of the work we had been doing and going through sections of material so that everyone knew the phrases which would be done all together and other phrases could be learned and experimented on with other dancers and combinations of people.

At this point in my research, it was important to focus on these things:

• What values have I continued to use of my own?
• Which of mine has changed?
• Have I embraced Forsythe, Kylian, and Pite's principles and system?
• If applying them, how are they working to support me?
• Are there any which I have rejected and why?
• How has the choreographic process been tended to?
• As a contemporary dancer how have these tended to my values?
• Has ballet and the value system within that changed my principles, has it affected my system of beliefs of what is important?
